Chloe Ferry Plastic Surgery: The £50,000 Body Transformation She Now Deeply Regrets

In 2015, nineteen-year-old Chloe Ferry, still going by her birth name, Chloe Etherington, entered the Geordie Shore home. There are pictures from that time period with a natural nose, slightly anxious eyes, and none of the sculpted architecture that would later define her appearance. Looking at those photos now makes it difficult to avoid wondering when things changed and what specifically caused the change.

According to Chloe herself, the answer was a convoluted mix of celebrity, insecurity, and the constant barrage of comments on the internet. She started getting Botox at the age of 19 months after joining the show, characterizing injections as a natural part of being a girl. An eyebrow lift shortly after. Next, lip fillers. Next came the first, second, and third nose jobs. Three augmentations of the breasts. In 2017, she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift to achieve what she called an hourglass figure. Spread over ten years of clinic visits and operating tables, the total had surpassed £50,000 by the time anyone began to count.

Geordie Shore never pretended to be different from reality television, which has always had a tense relationship with beauty standards. Several of Chloe’s co-stars underwent noticeable changes of their own. Elite Surgical performed a rhinoplasty on Charlotte Crosby. Christie Kyle did as well. A certain look seemed to be rewarded by the cameras, and when it didn’t appear, the internet reacted angrily. There was a sense of collective momentum to it. By her own admission, Chloe was not exempt from any of that. She once publicly admitted that she felt more confident after surgery and that she believed she was addicted. It probably seemed like an honest thing to say at the time.

The other procedures don’t quite match the BBL’s central role in the narrative. It took a lot of work to transfer fat to her lower body to create a noticeable hourglass figure, and it was difficult to undo. It shaped her public persona for years, appearing in social media posts, photo shoots, and the overall visual representation of her fame. Then, in 2024 or so, something changed. She began to express her desire to return. Her description of the surgical field as a “dark hole” may seem insignificant, but it has some weight when you think about it.

People seemed to take notice of the BBL reversal, which she shared on social media and in an open podcast interview, in part because it was so widely reported and in part because she was willing to call it one of the best choices she had ever made. A picture of her body after surgery brought her to tears. The reversal, she said, was a positive move. Observing someone analyze, in real time, what it meant to spend years changing oneself and then conclude that the original version was actually fine had a genuinely moving effect.

The nose jobs have a complex footnote of their own. The third rhinoplasty was partially corrective because she had reduced the size of her nose to the point where breathing became difficult, a complication that may be more frequent than the cosmetic surgery industry tends to promote. She praised the outcome and said she was finally satisfied with her nose after hiring Mr. Sultan Hassan to do the rhinoplasty at Elite Surgical, which was reasonably detailed. Nobody seems particularly eager to publicly address the question of whether three rounds of surgery were required to get there.

The timing is intriguing—and possibly a little awkward. In the mid-2020s, there has been a noticeable shift in body trends, especially with regard to the BBL aesthetic. In the late 2010s, social media praised exaggerated curves, but these have since given way to something more minimalist and slimmer. Not unreasonably, some observers have noted that Chloe’s reversal aligns quite nicely with that change in cultural preferences. It’s unclear if the same social pressure that propelled the initial procedures also had an impact on the motivation. Most likely both. Seldom do these things disassemble neatly.

Chloe Ferry’s body-related discourse has undergone a significant transformation. She sounds less like a press release and more like someone who has truly experienced something when she speaks about wanting to feel like herself again, thinking that changing her body would make her happy, and realizing that she needed to change how she saw herself. People on reality TV are rarely acknowledged for their complexity. Chloe Ferry may be a more fascinating case study than she first seems, as she turns thirty and publicly reverses ten surgical decisions.
